Wild Weather

Weather Info
The weather in the last 5 weeks has changed almost every week. After having some "super-thunderstorms" with tornados, we then received rain for many days together. Then the weather warmed up. Now the weather is cold again. This could have been the reason I was sick for a couple of days with this crazy weather. Anyways I am feeling good now, and happy to feel the cold air again.

I still have been reading my book, Eldest. I am now on page 400 just past halfway. I look to be on schedule for a March deadline. I also saw GhostRider in the movies. I have to say that is one of the most visual stunning movies I have ever seen. The story was good, but not great. The main conflicts for the main character seemed to be easily and short.

Winter Creeping In

Weather Info
There was a different feel in the air this morning. I received a slight chill walking to my car and decided to enjoy the heater's warmth until I parked on campus. The power of the sun is still warming up the day too much for winter clothes; however I think long sleeve shirts should be fine. I look forward to midday winter temperatures.

Winter has Arrived

Weather Info
On February 8th winter in Orlando finally arrived. I woke up this morning, put some shorts on and for kicks walked out into the common room to look at the outdoor temperature. I noticed it was very sunny out, so was pretty confident shorts would be fine. When I looked down at the digital read-out it said 45 degrees. In reflection, I thought to myself, "Woooaaahhhh shorts not going to work".

On the way to class it felt good to have a bright sun and a winter chill. Perhaps this is my reward for correctly predicting the Steelers victory. I said before the playoffs, "If Steelers beat Colts no one else will be there to stand in their way for a Superbowl win".

Hurricane

Weather Info
Well looks like power is restored in Paul and Gloria's house and server is back online. The hurricane didn't hit Orlando very hard, we got maybe 40 - 50 mph wind with close to hurricane strength gusts. What was cool was right after the hurricane was leaving the cold front came in super fast. My roommates and I stepped outside to look at the end of the hurricane and the cold air surprised us. All of us are happy, we sitting around mid 50s to mid 60s, with all windows open running no AC. I also had a flag football game today and it was perfect weather with bright sunny sky and cool mid 60s in the air temperature. Glad I finally get to wear some heavier clothes.

Got Water?

Posted by: Daniel on Thursday, October 13, 2005 - 09:53 PM 1109 Reads
Weather Info
Well the on going flood has continued for some 2 weeks now. We not getting enough rain to flood the place, but just a light sprinkle of rain to keep ever seat wet, every sand volleyball court underwater, everything you want to do outside not fun, etc. The rain getting old, each day it raining average of 8 hours +. Only part I feel good about is knowing everyone that has been going to Halloween Horror Nights is getting just as wet as I got when I went. Anyways, it hasn't slowed our football team, we are on a three game winning streak with our most important game this Saturday. Wish us luck, it has been discussed 3 more wins will make us Bowl Eligible, and if those are all conference wins we could win our conference!

Weather Info
Well Florida weather is set in. Lots of light rain all day with cloudy skies. On the days the sun comes out it just makes it very hot and humid. The overcast days are grey but at least they not super hot and humid. Can't wait for winter, hoping it will be as nice as last winner.

Well the weather is almost perfect outside. It is a little cool in morning but the nice sun makes it feel great. It has been a quiet weekend with almost all my roommates out of town, but still was fun.

Feeling the Heat

Posted by: Daniel on Friday, October 01, 2004 - 05:42 AM 856 Reads
Weather Info
Well some of the daily rain showers have stopped. I was in Super Target and found a little digital temperature reader for 6 bucks. The average inside temperature in the dorm is 77, which isn't as cool as you think because lack of ceiling fans creates less air movement. The outside temperature stays always above 90s during day. The sun is always on my window so the temperature probe sometimes reads above 100. I will be happy when winter comes...

Weather Weather, and Weather

Weather Info
Well this is starting to make college life difficult to settle into. Today we got the same hurricane slips to write down what we are going to do. They might end up canceling more classes or even worse cancel the football game I going to go to for Freshman Frenzy. As of now the football game is on, and nothing is known about classes. Don't know where I will go if they force us to leave, can't go with my roommate to Tampa because they will also be evacuating.

Hurricane Troubles Out Power In

Posted by: Daniel on Monday, August 16, 2004 - 08:05 PM 723 Reads
Weather Info
Well the house got power on Sunday at 9 pm. We were very happy we didn't have to go through another night without AC. The room temperature was above 85 constant. All the clean-up for the yard is 95% finished. All services are up; cable is going up and down but seems to be showing life now.
